The Heritage Club serves as a vibrant hub dedicated to discovering, preserving and promoting the rich cultural and historical heritage of our society. The club organizes heritage walks/tours, workshops, talks, debates and seminars from time to time to raise awareness of the students and sensitize them about the pluralistic cultural legacy and heritage of India. Our Club is based on the concept ‘know thy region’. In this context, it conducts surveys of architectural heritage in Kolkata and adjoining districts targeting the less known heritage sites which are in a state of dilapidation and needs projection and awareness for conservation. Emphasis is also laid on folk arts.

Objectives:

• Our aim is to instil a sense of social responsibility towards preserving our rich heritage.
• The club aims to establish a dynamic forum to trace and appreciate our society’s roots through events, workshops, and heritage site visits and encouraging students to take pride in their cultural legacy.
• Provide students with opportunities to explore and develop practical skills and knowledge for career options as a tour guide.
• It seeks to sensitize students to the importance of our Culture and Heritage, and promote a sense of social cohesion and cultural identity among them.
